Eco-Protesters Arrested After Dramatic Plane Defacement at Ibiza Airport

Activists from Extinction Rebellion Ibiza and Future Vegetal faced arrest for a daring eco-protest at Ibiza Airport. The private jet was boldly painted in black and yellow, and protesters even glued their hands to it, causing the airport to close temporarily. Social media platforms were flooded with video and images of the incident on July 14, 2023, when activists breached the airport. Future Vegetal’s Twitter account confirmed that some activists had been released after 9 hours in custody, but they vowed to continue their actions. Additionally, on July 16, 2023, the same group reportedly targeted a superyacht allegedly owned by Nancy Walton, an heir to Walmart.
