Emirates, the leading Dubai-based airline, is set to significantly enhance its operations in Australia. The airline announced an upgrade to its second daily flight between Dubai and Brisbane, introducing the iconic A380 aircraft starting October 1. Additionally, Emirates is expanding its service to Perth by adding a second daily flight, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, commencing on December 1.

The introduction of the A380 on the Brisbane route marks a significant increase in passenger capacity and a commitment to providing an exceptional travel experience. The second A380 flight, EK430, will depart Dubai at 02:30hrs and arrive in Brisbane at 22:20hrs. The return flight, EK431, will leave Brisbane at 01:55hrs, reaching Dubai at 10:05hrs. These timings are set to offer convenient schedules for passengers, enhancing connectivity and travel options.

Similarly, the new flight to Perth, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, reinforces Emirates’ presence in the Australian market. The additional flight, EK424, will depart from Dubai at 09:15hrs and arrive in Perth at 00:05hrs the following day. The return flight, EK425, will take off from Perth at 06:00hrs and land in Dubai at 13:10hrs. This expansion offers travelers more choices for business and leisure trips, with comfortable connections through Dubai.

Barry Brown, Divisional Vice President Australasia at Emirates, emphasized the importance of this expansion. “We’re pleased to offer more choice and opportunities for Australians traveling from Brisbane and Perth,” he said. This increase in operations demonstrates the significance of these cities for tourism and trade, and underscores Emirates’ commitment to providing convenient schedules and comfortable connections.

Brown also highlighted that the ramp-up is reflective of Emirates’ commitment to enhancing global connectivity to Australian gateways and supporting the growth of tourism and trade. The addition of these flights is expected to open access to diverse opportunities for business, leisure, culture, and more, particularly with the advantage of seamless afternoon connections from Dubai to Europe on the second Perth flight and a full A380 experience to and from Brisbane.

Gert-Jan de Graaff, CEO of Brisbane Airport, welcomed the news, noting the positive impact on passenger travel between Queensland and Europe, Brisbane’s second busiest international destination. “Emirates is our number one mover of people to and from Europe,” he stated, adding that Emirates’ commitment to reducing noise impacts on the local community through over the bay operations is commendable.

This expansion by Emirates is a testament to the airline’s continuous efforts to enhance its global network, offering more travel options and improved services to its passengers. The addition of these flights to Brisbane and Perth is expected to significantly boost travel and trade between Australia and the rest of the world, reinforcing Emirates’ role as a key player in international aviation.
