Emirates has revealed a striking new livery on one of its Airbus A380 aircraft to showcase the airline’s commitment to transforming the lives of thousands of children globally. The unique design is inspired by the Emirates Airline Foundation’s extensive humanitarian efforts, which aim to support children in need across various parts of the world.

The newly adorned Airbus A380 features vibrant children’s artwork along with the heartfelt message, “Help to support children in need.” The livery is further enhanced with green, orange, blue, and pink pastel stars, while each of the aircraft’s engine cowls has been painted a warm orange shade. This color scheme symbolizes a brighter future for the disadvantaged and vulnerable children that the Emirates Airline Foundation helps through its various projects.

The specially decorated Emirates Airbus A380-800, registered as A6-EEP, took to the skies for the first time on September 2, 2024, departing from Dubai and heading to Johannesburg, South Africa. In Johannesburg, the airline’s foundation supports two key projects focused on improving the lives of local children.

A spokesperson for Emirates highlighted the significance of this initiative: “Over the last twenty years, The Emirates Airline Foundation has supported over 50 projects, partnering with numerous community-based organizations and NGOs to address the critical developmental needs of children. This includes providing safe housing, food, medical care, and empowering education, regardless of geography, background, political associations, or religion.”

The spokesperson also emphasized that the foundation’s work is made possible through the generous donations of Emirates customers, donors, and employees. These contributions are collected both onboard flights and online, enabling the foundation to fund its impactful projects.

Currently, the Emirates Airline Foundation supports 14 NGOs in nine countries, focusing mainly on regions where Emirates operates. This proximity allows the airline’s employees to volunteer and directly contribute to the foundation’s mission. One notable project supported by the foundation is Prithipura Communities in Sri Lanka, which aids 240 infants, children, and young adults with disabilities by providing specialist care, education, vocational training, and employment opportunities.

In South Africa, the foundation plays a crucial role at the Fikelela Children’s Centre, which supports children living with HIV or AIDS. Meanwhile, in Zimbabwe, the foundation provides vital resources to St Marcellin’s Children’s Village, a facility that cares for orphaned and homeless children, many of whom face challenges such as physical disabilities, blindness, and HIV.

The Emirates Airline Foundation’s efforts, symbolized by the new A380 livery, reflect the airline’s deep commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of children around the world. By leveraging the global reach of its operations, Emirates is able to support critical projects that offer hope and a brighter future to some of the world’s most vulnerable children.
