Emirates Unveils New Crew Zone in Dubai HQ

Emirates has opened a dedicated Cabin Crew space at the main Emirates Group Headquarters in Dubai, marking a major investment in employee wellbeing and development. The new facility, known as the Crew Zone, is designed to support the airline’s thousands of new cabin crew members by providing an all-encompassing area where they can prepare for flights, relax, and socialize around the clock. With an investment of AED 3 million (approximately $810,000), the Crew Zone is built on the ground floor of the headquarters, conveniently located near Dubai International Airport, the airline’s primary operational hub.
The Crew Zone is a purpose-built facility featuring a contemporary, open-plan design and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It has been meticulously divided into seven distinct zones, each tailored to meet specific needs of the crew. One area, known as the Emirates Crew Engagement Zone, is dedicated to connecting crew members with the latest airline initiatives, product launches, and training sessions. Here, interactive screens and real-time calendars allow crew to book workshops and training sessions on professional as well as personal topics, including safety, security, and medical training. This zone not only encourages continuous learning but also strengthens the connection between the crew and other Emirates facilities.
Another key feature is the Emirates One Device Hub, which provides round-the-clock support through the airline’s One Device program. In this area, cabin crew are equipped with iPhones or iPad Air devices preloaded with custom Emirates apps designed to streamline onboard service and improve work processes. The facility also includes a Crew Lounge, a comfortable space where crew can unwind, enjoy coffee, catch up on inflight reports, or simply relax between flights. The lounge is furnished with cozy seating and tables, offering a respite during long duty periods.
In addition to these zones, the Crew Zone offers a dedicated Emirates Facilities Distribution Service for efficiently handling necessary documents such as visas and regulatory papers. The Crew Computer Zone provides high-speed internet, new monitors, and individual workstations, ensuring that crew members can manage digital tasks like booking personal flights or printing essential documents. For real-time operational support, the Crew Connect Services area is staffed 24/7 to answer queries regarding rosters, leave requests, and other concerns either in person, over the phone, or via email.
A standout element of the new facility is the Emirates Beauty Hub, which originally launched in 2023. Now part of the expanded Crew Zone, the Beauty Hub offers an immersive experience with in-house consultants and a range of products for sale. Here, cabin crew can book personalized appointments to learn makeup techniques, skincare routines, nutrition advice, and haircare tips, or join complimentary group events and masterclasses. This unique feature reflects Emirates’ broader commitment to fostering a holistic sense of wellbeing among its staff.
By providing such a comprehensive facility, Emirates is setting a new benchmark in crew support. The Crew Zone is expected to accommodate up to 200 crewmembers at a time and offers seamless services that promote both professional growth and a strong sense of community. With over 22,000 cabin crew currently employed, this new investment reinforces Emirates’ dedication to ensuring its crew have a welcoming space to relax, collaborate, and excel. This initiative not only enhances the onboard service quality but also underlines the airline’s commitment to creating a supportive work environment for its valuable team members.
