Envoy Air Expands Fleet with 19 New Embraer Jets Including E170s and E175s
Envoy Air, a subsidiary of American Airlines, is set to bolster its fleet with the addition of 19 Embraer regional jets. This expansion includes a mix of eleven new E175s and eight E175s, with deliveries scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2024.
The airline clarified that this order includes both brand new E175s directly from Embraer and a combination of second-hand E170s and E175s acquired from other carriers. This strategic move is aimed at enhancing Envoy Air’s operational capabilities and fleet efficiency.
Envoy Air’s current fleet comprises thirty E170s and 108 E175s, all operated on behalf of American Airlines. All the E175s are owned by American Airlines, with six initially ordered by Republic Airways, the E170s are a mix of six aircraft owned by American and others leased.
In addition to this latest order, American Airlines has an existing order for ten new E175s earmarked for Envoy Air. The regional airline is also actively adding second-hand E170s to its fleet. With this new order, Envoy Air plans to expand its fleet to a total of forty-three E170s and 126 E175s. This expansion comes after Envoy Air concluded its operations with the E145 aircraft in mid-2023.
This fleet enhancement underscores Envoy Air’s commitment to providing robust regional air services and maintaining a modern, efficient fleet to meet the growing demand in its markets. The introduction of these Embraer jets will enable the airline to offer improved connectivity and an enhanced travel experience for its passengers.
