FAA Administrator Steve Dickson steps down
After announcing his retirement earlier this month, Federal Aviation Administration Administrator Steve Dickson steps down today. The former pilot led the agency through several major crises, including the grounding and return-to-airworthiness of the Boeing 737 MAX, mitigating interference issues caused by the rollout of 5G service and aviation-industry disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic. “Something tells me you will never be a stranger to the aviation sector or to this agency,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg in remarks celebrating Dickson’s retirement.
