FAA offers to assist in China Eastern Airlines investigation

The Federal Aviation Administration said it is “ready to assist in the investigation efforts if asked” after a China Eastern Airlines flight crashed on Monday. The flight had departed from Kunming, capital of Yunnan province, and was flying to Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong, when it went down in a mountainous area of southern China. The Boeing 737-800 aircraft was reportedly carrying 123 passengers and nine crew on board.
