FAA taking input to shape aircraft noise policies

The Federal Aviation Administration is taking stakeholder input regarding aircraft noise research projects and future noise policy. In its request for comment, the agency noted that that the number of people exposed to significant levels of aircraft noise has dropped significantly since the 1970s, which it attributed to quieter aircraft and mitigation efforts.
