Fleet Analysis: Shenzhen Airlines

Shenzhen Airlines, which began operations in November 1993, will soon reach 30 years of flying. The Chinese carrier has amassed a considerable fleet of almost 200 aircraft and became a member of the Star Alliance.

The majority of Shenzhen Airlines’ fleet consists of twin-engine narrowbodies, with Airbus accounting for 110 of the planes. The A320ceo series is the most common, with 76 aircraft in the carrier’s fleet.

Shenzhen Airlines has also invested in the new A320neo series, with 29 planes from this family in operation and orders for a further 18 A320neos and 17 A321neos.

The carrier also has 76 Boeing 737-800s in its fleet, with an average age of 10.4 years old. In recent years, Shenzhen Airlines has also begun flying aircraft from the Boeing 737 MAX series.

Additionally, Shenzhen Airlines operates six Airbus A330-300s for its smaller portfolio of international destinations, with these planes being 5.2 years old on average and able to seat up to 309 passengers.
