flyv Plans Norrköping Base in Collaboration with Tecnam P2012s
flyv (Germany), a new airline set to commence operations by the end of 2024, has revealed plans to establish a strategic route development partnership with Norrköping Airport in Sweden. The partnership aims to facilitate the expansion of low-cost ad-hoc regional air services, with the airline basing nine-seater Tecnam P2012s at Norrköping.
The collaboration comes as flyv prepares to launch its services, with a focus on sustainable air travel. The airline’s CEO, Anton Lutz, emphasized the significance of supportive airport partners for positioning, marketing, and attracting investors. Norrköping Airport, located 135km southwest of Stockholm, expressed enthusiasm for flyv’s commitment to sustainability.
Initially deploying four Tecnam P2012 Travellers, flyv aims to grow its fleet to over 50 aircraft within the next decade, enhancing connectivity in rural European areas through smaller airports. The airline has also signed a letter of intent with electric aircraft developer Eviation for 25 electric Alice aircraft, complementing its strategy for hybrid and electric commuter liners.
Operating on its air operator certificate (AOC), flyv plans to establish a core network within Europe, starting with Germany and Sweden and expanding to other countries through new partnerships. The airline’s approach aligns with its goal of providing accessible air travel to underserved regions while promoting sustainability in the aviation industry.
