Green-driven Hawaii hotel puts money where values lie

The Soul Community Planet Hotel in Hilo, Hawaii, part of a chain of eco-oriented properties launched in 2020, is making cleaner beaches a priority in a partnership with the Hawaii Wildlife Fund. The hotel donates $1 from each stay to the fund, estimated to be the cost of removing 2.2 pounds of trash, which is also the amount of waste a typical hotel guest generates per night.
