Gulf Air has resumed flights to and from Saudi Arabia begining with Jeddah on 27 September with plans to announce more destinations within the Kingdom soon. Direct flights to and from Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport resumed on 24 September.

Gulf Air has operated direct flights between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia for decades, which forms an important part of the airline’s network.

Saudi only recently reopened its airports to international flights and won’t be fully open until January 2021.

With the addition of Jeddah, Gulf Air is now operating at almost 40% of its original network with flights to and from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, Cairo, Amman, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Athens, Manila, Dhaka and several destinations in India and Pakistan.

Gulf Air recently relaunched destinations to India and Pakistan which is a crucial step towards recovering its network.

The company said in a statement: “Gulf Air continuously works closely with the governments authorities throughout the destinations on its network to resume operations as soon as airports open.”
