Hans Airways, the UK’s newest start up carrier, has chosen Moment’s portable IFE system for its onboard entertainment.

Moment’s Flymingo box will be fitted aboard its first Airbus A330-200 ahead of the company’s revenue operations later this year. Hans Airways is a privately-owned UK start-up with a hybrid, long-haul model that intends to operate from the UK’s Birmingham Airport to India. The carrier plans to initially serve the Indian diaspora’s needs in Europe and then move on to North America.

Hans Airways’ passengers will be able to access a variety of premium content through the Flymingo Box, including films, TV shows, infotainment and games streamed directly from passengers’ own devices.

According to Moment, Flymingo presents a compact and powerful server. As an autonomous solution, Flymingo Box adapts to non-connected environments and does not require any additional connectivity, operating with its own Wi-Fi network.

Hans Airways evaluated several providers to identify the best solution for its needs before determining Moment. The airline’s Chief Commercial Officer Martin Dunn said: “Flymingo Box technology will enable passengers to access intuitively and immediately a range of digital services during their journey. We will also promote our loyalty program, FlyHAPEEI, on the passenger portal.”

“We are excited to contribute to the creation of the passenger experience aboard Hans Airways’ aircraft,” said Dieudonné Kamaté, Business Development Director at Moment. “Flymingo Box is a cost-effective solution which adapts perfectly to all airlines, regardless of fleet size, and which easily brings digital services on board. As a leading inflight entertainment solution, we are sensitive to our customers’ needs, striving to help them build an unforgettable and differentiating experience with unmatched performance.”
