Hawaii business travel loss gauged at $1.1B

The American Hotel & Lodging Association forecasts a $1.1 billion loss for Hawaii business travel this year compared to 2019. While the category accounts for only 5% to 7% of Hawaii visitation, business visitors are coveted because they’re more respectful and spend more than leisure travelers, says Kalani Kaʻanaʻana of the Hawaii Tourism Authority.
