Hospitality turnaround helps fuel REIT M&A boom

Real estate investment trusts in the hospitality sector have shown a 17% rise in mergers and acquisitions over 2020 as REITs overall lead a national M&A resurgence, according to analysis by commercial real estate firm JLL. Hospitality was among REITs that underperformed sharply until starting a comeback in late 2020 that made them part of a REIT climb that may make 2021 a record year, JLL reports
