Hospitality workers unionize at Calif.’s Blue Lake Casino

The Blue Lake Rancheria Tribe has made a deal with Unite Here Local 49 to represent hospitality workers who work at California’s Blue Lake Casino & Hotel, with the union contract stipulating competitive wages, improved benefits and additional paid time off. “The Blue Lake Rancheria supports organized labor and a year ago readily agreed to a fair process under which employees could choose whether to unionize without interference,” Tribal Administrator Jason Ramos said in a statement.
