Hotel workers: Mask pass for guests wrong on its face

Hotel union leaders and many workers take issue with new guidelines from the American Hotel & Lodging Association that allow vaccinated guests to go unmasked. “The whole idea that the current guidance is on the honor system and if you’re vaccinated, you wear a mask, and if you’re not, you don’t, is probably one of the most unpragmatic ideas I’ve heard in a long time,” says Kurt Petersen, co-president of Unite Here Local 11 in Southern California and Arizona.
