Hotel’s “Gambit” move aims to keep losses in check

A room redesign inspired by “The Queen’s Gambit” brings the 21C hotel in Lexington, Ky., into the fold of properties that have drawn on media favorites to boost sagging occupancy and rates. The Harmon Room, named for series heroine Beth Harmon, goes for about $80 more than the hotel’s average nightly tab but includes little extras along with its chess decor.
