Hotels will shelter migrants under $86.9M US pact

The federal government has arranged to pay a Texas nonprofit $86.9 million to house Central American migrants in hotels near the Texas and Arizona borders with Mexico. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials say 1,239 beds along with “other necessary services” will be provided arrivals in an influx that’s swollen in response to eased restrictions under the new administration.
