House bills would require TSA health safety plans

The House has approved two pieces of legislation that would require the Transportation Security Administration to develop a plan to safeguard the health of passengers and staff at airport screening checkpoints and plans to deal with future communicable disease outbreaks. “Given the importance of the transportation system in the economy and everyday life of this country, it is paramount that the federal government ensure better preparedness and resilience of the system,” said Rep. John Katko, R-N.Y., the top Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee.
