Philanthropies and donors have pledged billions of dollars toward racial justice initiatives since the murder of George Floyd, but it’s unclear how much of that funding has been fulfilled and what difference it’s making, according to an analysis from The Associated Press and The Chronicle of Philanthropy. Nearly 90% of 236 foundations said they’re tying pandemic recovery to equity, but few are focused on board diversity as part of that process, said Ellie Buteau of the Center for Effective Philanthropy, citing a recent report.
