Hyatt Place OK in Portland, Ore., will be appealed

Opponents say they’ll appeal the Portland, Ore., City Council’s approval of a proposed 23-story Hyatt Place Hotel in the city’s historic Pearl District. The project, 11 floors of hotel space topped by 12 of apartments, would be too tall to fit with its surroundings, the neighborhood group has long maintained.
