IATA: ‘Political will’ necessary to reach net zero

International Air Transport Association Director General Willie Walsh said “political will” is needed to help the aviation industry achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, including expanding access to sustainable aviation fuels and eliminating structural inefficiencies. “If we’re trying to achieve true net-zero by 2050, then there’s so much more politicians can do to assist us,” Walsh explained.
