Iceland’s PLAY unveils initial network plans for S21

PLAY (FPY, Reykjavik Keflavik) has unveiled its initial network plans covering a range of destinations in Europe, with the first flight due to depart from Reykjavik Keflavik to London Stansted on June 23, 2021. The Icelandic start-up will operate the following network out of Keflavik during the summer 2021 season:

  • Stansted (2x weekly, increasing to 4x weekly from July 1),
  • Tenerife Sur (2x weekly from June 29),
  • Berlin Brandenburg Int’l (4x weekly from July 2),
  • Alicante (2x weekly from July 13),
  • Paris CDG (4x weekly from July 15),
  • Barcelona El Prat (2x weekly from July 16),
  • Copenhagen Kastrup (2x weekly from July 22).

The airline is planning to launch with three A321-200Ns dry-leased from AerCap. The first of the trio is due to deliver to Iceland in early June, with the other two due to follow in early and mid-July to enable PLAY to expand its network as planned.
