IHG Hotels & Resorts Partners with Action Against Hunger
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a multi-year partnership with Action Against Hunger to address global food insecurity and hunger. This initiative comes as a response to the staggering statistic that one in three people worldwide faces uncertainty about their next meal due to factors like poverty, conflict, climate change, and food shortages.
Action Against Hunger, a leading global NGO, has dedicated decades to preventing, detecting, and treating hunger across various regions, including East Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
As part of this partnership, IHG will fund Action Against Hunger’s nutrition and screening programs. Additionally, IHG One Rewards members will have the opportunity to contribute to the cause by donating their points. For example, 10,000 points can screen 124 children for malnutrition, while 7,500 points can provide six weeks of food for a malnourished child.
This collaboration builds on IHG’s True Hospitality for Good program, which already supports efforts to combat food waste and partners with organizations such as No Kid Hungry in the U.S., OzHarvest in Australia, and Too Good To Go in Europe.
Eli Maalouf, CEO of IHG Hotels & Resorts, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “Food is central to our hospitality, yet millions face severe shortages despite global production being sufficient to feed everyone. This is a solvable problem if we work together as societies, organizations, and businesses.”
Maalouf further added, “IHG Hotels & Resorts is honored to partner with Action Against Hunger and continue our support for charities worldwide. Our collective aim is to foster lasting change and ensure that people are always nourished, welcomed, and respected.”
