Indonesia’s Super Air Jet outlines initial network plans
Super Air Jet (IU) President Director Ari Azhari has outlined the nascent budget carrier’s initial network plans which will target western Indonesia with at least daily return services.
“The main aim of Super Air Jet is to offer a low-cost concept with direct flights between cities on a point-to-point basis in the domestic market and later on, expand into international routes,” he told local media on Wednesday, July 21.
The first six cities to be served include Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta, Palembang, Padang, Batam, Medan Kuala Namu, and Pontianak. Operations will be onboard a fleet of A320-200s.
Super Air Jet has already completed its AOC drive and is now in the process of wrapping up its route authority applications.
Azhari provided no exact date for the start-up’s launch.
