Is a desert in Colombia the next Las Vegas?

A Las Vegas-style casino oasis is being envisioned in La Guajira, a desert region in Colombia, by Evert Montero Cardenas, the chair of the country’s Federation of Entrepreneurs of Games of Luck and Chance. Cardenas says the government is interested in the idea, although the billions of dollars that would be needed to get such a big project off the ground would be a challenge.
