Joby takes step toward eVTOL air taxi service

Joby Aviation has taken the first regulatory step toward its planned launch of air taxi service using electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The Federal Aviation Administration issued the company a permit to fly conventional aircraft, which it plans to use “to refine systems and procedures in advance of launching eVTOL service targeted for 2024.”
