Korean Air and MOLIT Partner to Elevate Aviation Safety at 2024 Safety Forum
Korean Air, in collaboration with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT) and Korea Aerospace University, has joined forces with 10 local airlines to enhance aviation safety practices at the “2024 Aviation Safety Culture Forum.” The event, held in Incheon on September 25, focused on developing a proactive safety management culture within the aviation industry.
Supported by key industry players like Jeju Air, T’way Air, Jin Air, Delta Air Lines, Airbus, and Boeing, the forum brought together 230 attendees, including international aviation authorities and academic institutions. Under the theme “Cultivating a Safety Culture for Aviation Safety,” the event emphasized collaboration between airlines, academia, and government to establish a strong, fair safety culture.
A central moment of the forum was the signing of the “Aviation Safety Culture Leadership Charter” by Korean Air President Keehong Woo and the CEOs of 10 domestic airlines. The charter outlines five key commitments, including making safety a management priority, fostering a culture of accountability, and promoting open communication on safety issues.
Throughout the day, participants discussed safety management systems, reporting culture, and strategies for enhancing aviation safety. Korean Air and MOLIT reaffirmed their dedication to creating a safer aviation environment, with the goal of becoming global leaders in aviation safety.
This forum marks a significant step towards strengthening aviation safety through collective effort, ensuring a safer future for the industry.
