Lag in business travel may become permanent

The effect of the pandemic on the business travel industry has been 10 times more serious than both the Sept. 11 terrorism attacks and the financial crisis in 2008, according to the Global Business Travel Association. Companies are citing cost savings, a desire to reduce carbon emissions and the convenience of teleconferencing as reasons to curtail business travel, even once it becomes safer to go to business trips.
