Laid-off L.A. resort workers collect $1.5M in state relief

Fifty-seven employees of the exclusive Terranea Resort in Los Angeles who have been laid off during the pandemic and not called back promptly or at all when business improved have received more than $1.5 million from the state under a new law. The resort stated Thursday that it began rehiring in earnest well before the compensation measure was enacted.
