Leaky convention center hotel in Mo. called drag on tourism

University Plaza, once the flagship convention hotel in Springfield, Mo., has fallen into such disrepair that tourism is suffering, laments the city’s visitors’ bureau chief. “Our ability to host big groups is nonexistent without University Plaza,” which is beset by roof leaks and lack of investment, Tracy Kimberlin told the City Council.
