Long-awaited rail line extension opens in Somerville, Mass.

The extension of the Green Line rail to Somerville, Mass., has finally been completed, 32 years after discussions about the project initially began. The first trolley arrived at the new Union Square station on Monday and marks the first new subway branch to open in the Boston vicinity in the last 35 years
