Malaysia Airlines has officially launched its inaugural flight to Da Nang, Vietnam, marking the beginning of a seven-times weekly service between Kuala Lumpur and Da Nang. The first flight, MH748, departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) at 08:35 local time on September 24, 2024, and touched down at Da Nang International Airport (DAD) at 10:25 local time.

Carrying 155 passengers—12 in business class and 143 in economy class—the maiden flight was a successful start to the new route. To celebrate the occasion, passengers were presented with limited-edition postcards showcasing scenic landscapes of Da Nang, a city known for its proximity to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Da Nang, Vietnam’s fourth-largest city, is a gateway to the cultural treasures of Central Vietnam. It offers access to the famous heritage sites of Hue Ancient Town, Hoi An Ancient Town, and My Son Sanctuary, making it an attractive destination for international travelers seeking both natural beauty and historical significance.

The return flight, MH749, departed Da Nang at 11:25 local time and landed back in Kuala Lumpur at 15:20 local time, marking the successful completion of the inaugural round-trip service.

Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, CEO of Airlines at Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), expressed his excitement about the new service. “We are delighted to have launched our inaugural flight to Da Nang, achieving an impressive load factor of 90%, which reflects strong demand for travel to this beautiful city,” said Azmi. He emphasized that the launch of this new route not only enhances connectivity but also strengthens Malaysia Airlines’ position as a preferred carrier for travelers across the region.

Azmi highlighted that the new service to Da Nang is Malaysia Airlines’ third destination in Vietnam, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to expanding its presence in Southeast Asia. “This new service opens doors for our passengers to explore the natural beauty and cultural richness of Da Nang, further establishing the airline as a gateway to Asia and beyond,” he added.

The daily service between Kuala Lumpur and Da Nang offers more convenience and travel options for both leisure and business travelers. By providing consistent access to one of Vietnam’s most vibrant cities, Malaysia Airlines continues to enhance its regional network while promoting greater tourism and economic exchange between Malaysia and Vietnam.

With its stunning beaches, cultural landmarks, and historical significance, Da Nang is expected to attract a growing number of international visitors, and Malaysia Airlines aims to cater to this rising demand. The airline’s expanded network, combined with its commitment to offering premium service, ensures a seamless travel experience for passengers traveling to and from Da Nang.

As Malaysia Airlines continues to strengthen its connectivity across Southeast Asia, this new route further underscores the airline’s goal of becoming the carrier of choice for regional and international travelers, offering a gateway to Asia’s most fascinating destinations.
