Former Xerox CEO Ursula Burns says she would rather help a business revise its board selection criteria to remove bias than recommend the small pool of people who qualify for rules most aligned with white men. ” ‘You send me your spec, I’ll fix it for you, help you fix it, and then I’ll give you a load of names that you would not believe that would be phenomenal directors,’ ” Burns says of businesses that ask her to help them find potential board members who are women and/or people of color.
