MeetMeOnBoard, a pioneering platform for LGBTQ travelers to connect and book cruises, recently unveiled its new mobile app designed to enhance the cruising experience for queer communities. Available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play, the app builds upon the success of the MeetMeOnBoard website, established in 2008 by Mark den Hartog and Dale McCurdy, and acquired in 2022 by Adam Martindale, a seasoned veteran with over 30 years in the travel industry.

Adam Martindale shared insights into the development and launch of the MeetMeOnBoard app, which officially debuted on June 3, 2024, following a year of meticulous testing and user feedback.

“We’ve received positive initial feedback, with users expressing enthusiasm for more engagement tools like chat features and cabin-sharing options, which are already in development,” Martindale remarked.

The app’s early success is evident, with nearly 1,000 registered users and over 500 cruises joined. Martindale anticipates organic growth as more LGBTQ travelers discover and share the app through word of mouth.

Currently powered by Cruise Planners’ robust search capabilities, the app enables users to browse and book cruises from various cruise lines. Future updates will include integration of charter cruises and partnerships with prominent LGBTQ tour companies such as Brand g Vacations and Vacayadirectly.

“The vision behind MeetMeOnBoard has always been to foster connections among LGBTQ cruisers, both pre-departure and during their voyages,” Martindale explained. “With the shift to mobile, our goal is to bring the same sense of community and ease of planning directly to users’ fingertips.”

The MeetMeOnBoard app marks a significant evolution of the brand, leveraging technology to empower LGBTQ travelers with tailored cruise experiences and community connections.
