The loss of capacity on suspended passenger flights led to a substantial decrease in air cargo volume in 2020 — except at Miami International Airport, which had a record year for freight, with Atlas Air leading the top seven cargo carriers that included UPS and FedEx. “With a lot of freighter operators in Miami, more than any other airport in the Western world, we benefited,” said Emir Pineda, the airport’s trade and logistics manager.
