Minneapolis protects laid-off hospitality staff

City Council members in Minneapolis last week approved an ordinance requiring large hotels and event centers to prioritize laid-off staff over new hires as they move to resume operations. “The hospitality industry has been one of the hardest hit by the pandemic, and people who work at hotels and event centers deserve the peace of mind to know that they will be part of that reopening,” said council member Steve Fletcher.
