Modernism
Founded in 1979, Modernism has since presented more than 450 exhibitions, both historical and contemporary, in media ranging from painting to photography, sculpture to performance, by an international roster of artists.

For 41 years the gallery has striven to keep its challenging, museum-quality program at the forefront of the art world.

Modernism prides itself on the scope of its program:

Regular historical exhibitions encompassing most of the pivotal artistic movements of early 20th century Europe, including selected modern masters like Picasso, Matisse, Malevich, Munch, and others.

The contemporary program includes a wide range of visual trends, both representational and non-representational.

Exhibitions are presented at Modernism and Modernism West, as well as at international art fairs.

Modernism publishes books, catalogs, and fine art editions on a regular basis.

The gallery is a member of the Art Dealers Association of America and the San Francisco Art Dealers Association.
