MPS has installed its A320 FTD at Leading Edge Aviation’s (LEAL) state of the art training centre in London Oxford Airport. The device has been certified by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) as an FTD-1 including FNPT-II/MCC. This certification will allow LEAL to deliver APS MCC (Airline Pilot Standards Multi Crew Cooperation) training on the device.

The device will be used in both LEAL’s airline preparation course as well as its modular commercial pilot training course. The first group of students to use the MPS smarter simulator are currently completing their MCC/APS course.

Leading Edge Aviation’s Chief Executive Officer, Andy McFarlane: “The installation of the simulator has been an exciting phase in our recent development. Not only have we developed and written a completely new APS MCC course, but we have also seen our first graduates come through with flying colours. We’ve focused not only on the technical skills that are required, but also on those critical pilot competencies. All of which we can train with ease in the new sim’. Looking to the future, we already have a queue of students ready to complete this final phase with us and we cannot wait to welcome them. MPS’ professionalism throughout has been second to none, making the process seamless for the Leading Edge team.”

MPS’ Chief Executive Officer, Captain Philip Adrian: “It is exciting to support Leading Edge’s growth with this device and we look forward to seeing many of their students well-prepared for their tasks in future flight decks of the world’s airlines.”
