MSC Cruises Expands Guinness World Records Program Fleetwide
Travelers aboard MSC Cruises now have more opportunities to set Guinness World Records, as the cruise line rolls out its popular entertainment program across the entire fleet by the end of the year. Initially launched in March 2023 on MSC Seascape and MSC World Europa, the program quickly gained popularity, prompting MSC Cruises to expand it to 10 additional ships. Now, the record-breaking fun will be available fleetwide.
Since its launch, MSC Cruises’ guests and crew have broken 30 Guinness World Records. “From pulling 100 meters of rope the fastest to completing 20 chair rotations in under 21 seconds, our guests have attained record-breaking glory,” says Steve Leatham, vice president of entertainment for MSC Cruises. Other quirky records include putting the most socks on one foot in under 30 seconds.
Throughout the day, guests can participate in various record-breaking activities, which also serve as auditions for a featured evening show. If selected, participants get the chance to showcase their talents in front of fellow travelers and attempt to break an official Guinness World Record. All records are verified by an official adjudicator, and successful participants receive a certificate and, of course, the ultimate bragging rights.
“Guinness World Records exemplifies the type of activities that engage families across all ages,” said Matteo Mancini, senior manager of family entertainment for MSC Cruises. “It’s heartwarming to see guests of all ages come together to compete and play. On our ships, everyone can be a star.”
This new addition to MSC Cruises’ entertainment offerings ensures a fun, interactive, and memorable experience for travelers of all ages, bringing the excitement of Guinness World Records to the high seas.
