MSC Group, a global leader in transportation and logistics, has announced a significant investment in Miami-Dade County, Florida, establishing its North American headquarters in Downtown Miami. This $100 million investment will consolidate approximately 250 team members from MSC Cargo, MSC Cruises, and Explora Journeys into a new state-of-the-art facility within Block 55 at Sawyer’s Walk. The move strengthens MSC’s over 25-year presence in Miami-Dade and marks a strategic expansion for MSC Cruises and the newly launched Explora Journeys in the North American market.

The 130,000-square-foot office space is poised to support the continued growth of MSC’s cruise and cargo operations. An economic impact analysis by Miami-Dade County forecasts the creation of 668 direct and indirect jobs over the next three years and an annual recurring direct economic impact (Gross Regional Product) of $65.2M. This development is expected to significantly contribute to the local economy and community.

MSC Cruises is also constructing a new, next-generation cruise terminal at PortMiami. Slated to be North America’s largest upon completion later this year, the terminal will feature a four-story building with the capacity to manage 36,000 passenger movements per day and accommodate three latest-generation ships simultaneously.

The decision to establish the North American Cruise Division headquarters in Miami-Dade was influenced by the region’s robust labor pool and favorable business environment. MSC Group’s investment in Downtown Miami exemplifies the city’s growing appeal as a global business hub and a gateway to the Caribbean and North American markets.

Fabio Santucci, President and CEO of MSC USA, expressed enthusiasm for the investment, citing Miami’s crucial role in MSC’s U.S. expansion and its impact on the local economy. The Beacon Council played a vital role in facilitating this move, showcasing Miami-Dade’s welcoming business climate.

Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises, highlighted the growth potential for the Cruise Division in the Caribbean and North America, acknowledging the local economic benefits and community impact that MSC’s expansion will bring.

Rodrick T. Miller, President and CEO of the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, emphasized Miami’s status as a premier destination and access point for international businesses. He praised Miami’s diverse workforce and top-tier cruise port as ideal for MSC Cruises’ expansion.

Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava welcomed MSC Group, noting the county’s readiness to support its expansion. She highlighted PortMiami’s significance as a major economic engine, generating over $40 billion annually. MSC Cruises’ innovative approach and global influence are expected to seamlessly integrate with Miami’s diverse community, further elevating the city’s status as a world-class destination and business center.
