New Alaska Airlines’ jet tests cutting-edge tech

Alaska Airlines has offered one of its to-be-delivered jets to participate in Boeing’s “ecoDemonstrator” program, which helps develop, test, fine-tune and certify new technologies and products that benefit the airline industry and potentially reduce its impact on the environment. “It’s an investment in the R&D and the future of aviation on all of those fronts, some of which will be on an emissions front,” said Diana Birkett Rakow, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of public affairs and sustainability.
