Nigeria’s Air Peace Orders Five Embraer E-175 Aircraft
Air Peace, Nigeria’s largest airline, has placed an order for five Embraer E-175 aircraft as part of its fleet modernization and expansion plan. The E-175, which can seat up to 88 passengers and has a range of 2,000 nautical miles, is expected to replace the airline’s existing fleet of eight E-145 aircraft. This move will offer more comfort and convenience to passengers while increasing flexibility and profitability for the airline.
The CEO of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, highlighted that the acquisition of the E-175 aircraft will help meet the growing demand for air travel in Nigeria and Africa. It will complement the airline’s existing fleet of five E-195-E2 aircraft, which have a capacity of 124 seats and a range of 2,600 nautical miles.
Onyema also mentioned that the deal creates opportunities for establishing local maintenance capabilities in Nigeria with direct support from Embraer. Air Peace aims to enhance its fleet and provide increased connectivity in the region.
Embraer, the Brazilian aerospace company, expressed its honor in partnering with Air Peace and supporting its fleet strategy. The E-175 aircraft is expected to deliver superior performance and value for both the airline and its passengers.
Currently, Air Peace operates a mixed fleet of 33 aircraft across Africa and Asia, serving numerous domestic and international destinations. The airline plans to launch more routes in the near future and receive additional deliveries of E-195-E2 and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
This expansion underscores Air Peace’s commitment to improving air travel connectivity within Nigeria and the broader African region.
