Overland Airways (OF, Lagos) has ordered three E175s from Embraer (EMB, Sao Jose dos Campos) with options for three more. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2023.

The E1s will be the Nigerian carrier’s first jets given it currently operates an in-house fleet of Avions de Transport Régional turboprops including three ATR42-300s, one -QC, and one ATR72-200. It also operates two Beech 1900Ds and wet-leases in one E145 from the Bauchi State Government (Bauchi).

Overland Airways plans to use the E175s, which will be configured with 88 seats in a premium class cabin layout, to increase scheduled flights on domestic routes and to expand its regional network.

At present, it connects Abuja, Akure, Ibadan, Ilorin, Lagos, and Jalingo.
