Northwest Flyers Retires Gulfstream GVII-G500, Plans New Jet

Northwest Flyers has retired its sole Gulfstream Aerospace GVII-G500 aircraft from its Part 135-certified fleet as of November 2024, according to ch-aviation research. The jet, registered N568VA (msn 72085), was a 2.9-year-old aircraft configured to accommodate up to 14 passengers. It is no longer listed as a Part 135-certified aircraft under any operator.
Vice-president John Unzicker confirmed that the company plans to add another G500 to its fleet in late 2025, ensuring continuity in their offerings. In the meantime, Unzicker assured that the company’s remaining fleet is still available for on-demand charter services.
With the retirement of the G500, Northwest Flyers’ Part 135 certificate now includes a Citation Sovereign, a Citation Ultra, and a King Air B200 turboprop. The company had also previously retired its Citation XLS from the fleet in September 2024, further streamlining its operations.
Northwest Flyers’ decision to retire the Gulfstream GVII-G500 and its continued expansion plans reflect the company’s focus on maintaining a versatile and efficient fleet. The introduction of a new G500 in the future demonstrates Northwest Flyers’ commitment to offering high-quality private aviation services, while its existing aircraft continue to cater to a growing customer base seeking reliable and flexible charter options.
