Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is embarking on an exciting new chapter, setting its sights on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the first time. In a move that showcases NCL’s commitment to expanding its global footprint, the renowned cruise line will commence its maiden voyages to the Middle Eastern nation aboard the Norwegian Dawn, starting December 13.

This inaugural journey marks a significant milestone for NCL, as it introduces its passengers to the rich culture and diverse landscapes of the UAE and beyond. The upcoming sailings offer a variety of durations, ranging from seven to 20 days. These cruises are meticulously curated to include visits to iconic Middle Eastern destinations such as Doha, Qatar; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and Port Louis, Mauritius, among others.

Gary Anslow, a spokesperson for NCL, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for this new venture. “Introducing Norwegian Dawn to the Gulf waters signifies NCL’s dedication to offering exceptional holiday experiences and broadening the horizons for our guests. We are excited to showcase this region’s unique attractions and heritage,” he stated.

The decision to venture into UAE waters indicates NCL’s confidence in the region’s stability and safety, despite ongoing conflicts in nearby areas such as Gaza and Israel. These tensions, which escalated since October 7, have led to disruptions in travel plans for many cruise lines and airlines. However, NCL’s move suggests a positive outlook and a focus on exploring new, promising destinations.

Following its Middle East excursions, the Norwegian Dawn will reposition to Africa and later return to the Middle East in 2024, with plans to visit Europe during the summer season.

In addition to this expansion, NCL continues to grow its fleet and offerings. The Norwegian Viva, another NCL ship, began its service in Italy earlier this summer, further demonstrating NCL’s commitment to delivering diverse and enriching cruise experiences to its guests.

This venture into the UAE represents a bold step for Norwegian Cruise Line, as it continues to innovate and offer its passengers new and exotic destinations to explore, reaffirming its position as a leader in the global cruise industry.
