Nov. 1 reopening coming to Hawaii as pandemic eases

The long wait for full access to Hawaii will end Nov. 1, Gov. David Ige proclaimed Tuesday, citing a decline in COVID-19 cases since his request in August to visitors to stay away. While Hawaii welcomes fully vaccinated travelers, the state also will consult with the federal government on implementing the lifting of US restrictions on international visits, set for Nov., 8, Ige said.
