NYC charts exit of 8,000 homeless people from hotels

About 8,000 homeless people who were placed in 60 New York City hotels to shield them from the coronavirus will be moved to shelters so the hotels can resume welcoming the public, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Wednesday. State approval is needed, and a spokesman for Gov. Andrew Cuomo indicated it would be granted provided all shelter residents wear masks.
