NyxAir Introduces First ATR72 for Avem Aero’s Urgent Cargo Charters
Estonian carrier NyxAir marked a milestone on September 13, 2023, as it commenced operations with its newly acquired ATR72-500(F), serving Avem Aero in the realm of urgent cargo charters. This event not only represents the first deployment of an ATR – Avions de Transport Régional aircraft by NyxAir but also marks the initiation of ATR operations for the specialized cargo charter provider, Avem Aero.
The aircraft in question, ES-NTC (msn 541), was delivered to NyxAir in June 2023 and spent the following three months in storage before being positioned to Ostrava on September 13. Its inaugural commercial flight to Vitoria featured the transportation of automotive parts. Subsequently, ES-NTC has been actively engaged in various cargo charter missions across Europe, as reported by Flightradar24 ADS-B data.
NyxAir is currently operating ES-NTC, which is leased from Nordic Aviation Capital, on behalf of Avem Aero due to the latter’s absence of an Air Operator’s Certificate. This collaboration further strengthens the ties between NyxAir and Avem Aero, with Avem Aero already being a customer for two of NyxAir’s Saab 340A(F)s, namely ES-NSM (msn 113) and ES-NSN (msn 82).
Previously, Avem Aero exclusively utilized NyxAir’s Saab 340B(F) ES-NSD (msn 340B-171), which was retired earlier this year and subsequently sold to Ameriflight (AMF) based in Burbank.
NyxAir’s diverse fleet includes Saab 340A(F)s, with one dedicated to charters and another operating on the Dublin International to Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden route. Additionally, NyxAir manages a fleet of passenger aircraft, including two ATR42-500s, four Saab 2000s, one Saab 340A, and three Saab 340Bs.
The introduction of the ATR72 into NyxAir’s fleet not only expands its operational capabilities but also underscores its commitment to serving Avem Aero’s urgent cargo charter needs with efficiency and reliability.
